Jack Shenanigans

I really think that I am going to start making Jack wear a helmet…constantly and during all waking hours.  He is the king of climbing and jumping and riding fast and walking to the edge and scaring his mama half to death.
But today he outdid himself.  After falling halfway down the stairs this morning from trying to haul something too long and awkward down the stairs, I finally got him heading out the door for school.  Like I do EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING I told him to go get in his seat in the car.  He is so proud that he can open his own door now and climb in by himself.  I hit the garage door button to open it and turned to pull my jacket off the hook by the back door.  When I turned back around to go down the couple of garage steps, I look up to see Jack dangling from the completely raised garage door.  HE WAS HANGING FROM THE CEILING!!!!  Apparently, as he walked by the rising garage door, he thought it would be a good idea to grab hold and go for a ride.  It pulled him all the way up.
I let out a yell and raced to him to catch him just as his grip was slipping.  I put him on the ground and then stood back with my hand over my mouth in complete and utter shock that what I had just witnessed had actually happened.  He started bawling.  Thank goodness the incident scared him to death.  If he had wanted to try it again we would have had a serious problem.  I comforted him and calmed him down and got him in his seat.  As we were driving down the road a few minutes later, he pipes up from the back, "Mommy, I hold on to the garage door and it lift me all the way up!  Then you catch me."  Bless his heart!  We then preceded to have a conversation about how dangerous that was and how we weren't going to do that again.  Please, buddy, don't ever do that again.
When Anna got home from school, I told her what had happened.  Her response?  "That sounds like fun! I wanna try that!" What's a mama to do??
